WIKI in Plain English--CommonCraft

What is a Wiki

A wiki is a website that includes the collaboration of work from many different authors. A wiki gives members the capability to edit, delete, or modify the content on the web. A wiki is a great way to share information.

  • A collaborative webpage
  • You can add text, hyperlinks, images, and video
  • You can add additional pages to your wiki
  • You can edit or delete content on pages
  • Each page has a history of all edits made--This allows for content to be recovered if necessary

WHY AND HOW COULD YOU USE A WIKI?
  • It is FREE
  • Page History and Stored Revisions
  • Easy access to files such as images, PowerPoints, word documents, videos, etc.
  • Everyone can benefit and SEE the work completed
  • Create a collected body of knowledge that everyone can reference, modify, edit over time.
  • Collaboration for distributing resources quickly and easily
  • Collaborate on a group project
  • Professional Development Wiki
  • Lesson Plan Resources
